I have known Sean for 16 years, and he has always shown a high degree of professionalism and ability to communicate with both sides of an issue and work towards a fair conclusion. Recently, Sean and I worked together on the No on Measure C Committee to Keep Marijuana away from our children and out of San Jose neighborhoods. Sean took leadership and convinced his clients in the cannabis industry to not only support the No on Measure C effort but also donate tens of thousands of dollars to the campaign. He brought together both sides of the Measure C initiative and convinced the author of Measure C to withdraw his support -- a rare occurrence in my many years of campaigning.
We've had the pleasure of working with Sean on medical cannabis regulations for the last few years in San Jose. He has proven to be thorough, responsive, and effective at working with multiple stakeholders and moving very complex projects towards conclusion. I gladly recommend him as a strategic partner for others with similar business needs.
Sean has worked as our Lobbyist since 2015. His Government Affairs and Lobbying work within our highly regulated business is an integral part of our strategic team. He helped us accomplish our Government Affairs objectives and even brought in opportunities that added out our bottom line. Sean always delivers more than he promises. I highly recommend him to anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area looking for a well-qualified Consultant/Lobbyist.
I would like to express our appreciation for the hard work and dedication for Sean Kali-rai as our Government Affairs Lobbyist/Consultant. He has been so helpful in shaping industry policy and working closely with elected officials, city manager's office, city staff and various departments within City Hall and Police Department brass. Our understanding of Government Affairs is so different now, not just ass a way to communicate with government, but as a way to make money. Sean took out business and made it his own, we felt that he cared about the outcome as much as we did. Anytime I call and he answers the phone himself or I get an immediate call back, this is so hard to find today in business. Sean is professional, and reflects the right image for our company!
Mr. Kali-rai has a knack for boiling down complex policy issues into simple, clear messages and delivering them effectively to elected officials and government staff. He has demonstrated this for decades on issues as diverse as the regulation of grandfathered land uses (San Jose’s legacy card rooms) to the emerging issues of municipal regulation of medical cannabis. Sean is persistent. He has the ability to show government the clear choices between the negative effects of bad policy and positive effects of good policy. He gets results with that ability, his persistence and his talent for relationship building and maintenance. I recommend him unequivocally.
Sean, you are always full of surprises and Saturday was no exception.
